I bought this based on my expertise with my PAG40-5, which isn't solar powered. I wanted something that wouldn't quit on me on account of dead battery, most likely when I'm utilizing it most. After all, when camping or lost, do you truly need to rely on a battery? The only downside is that the LCD is really a bit washed out. You could even tell within the official amazon picture for those who compare to the PAG40-5 or comparable. In dawn or dusk, I can't study it without backlight, so I enabled auto-backlight. This can irritate some, no doubt. I'm pleased with the tradeoff, and would obtain once more.
